September 9, 2016, Boise, Idaho – The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) celebrates success with Downtown Boise’s City Peanut.
City Peanut Shop is a fixture in the heart of downtown Boise and has been instrumental in helping build the food community in the city. Owner, Dan Balluff, has established a great relationship with the expanding number of craft breweries and his product is placed in many of the eateries around town. As Dan would say, his future looks Nut-tastic! The company has worked closely with the SBDC since 2014 to become a Boise success story.
Dan opened for business in 2009, right in the middle of the recession. While he dealt with many of the challenges that come with starting a business, he persevered and his tasty products, superb customer service and collaboration in the business community has helped him grow his retail and wholesale business. With this growth came complexity and Dan reached out to the SBDC for advice and guidance.
Since working with the SBDC, Dan has been able to get one-on-one consulting as well as legal assistance, help in defining a channel strategy for his tasty snacks, and networking opportunities. “In addition to the breadth of services and knowledge the SBDC has to offer, I found the structure, discipline and accountability that came with working with my counselor to be of great value. He keeps me on track, grounded and focused on the critical issues. “ says Balluff.
